1. Overview
TagTreat offers software subscriptions for local businesses. This Refund Policy applies to paid TagTreat purchases processed through Paddle and forms part of our Terms of Service.
Paddle.com and its applicable affiliates (“Paddle”) act as our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle processes payments and approved refunds. TagTreat does not directly receive full card details or send refunds outside Paddle’s payment system.
Nothing in this Policy limits any refund, withdrawal, cancellation, or other consumer right that cannot be waived under applicable law. Where mandatory law or Paddle’s Buyer Terms provide greater protection, that protection applies.
2. Canceling a Subscription
You may cancel a paid TagTreat subscription at any time using the “Manage subscription” link in your Paddle receipt or confirmation email, through Paddle’s buyer portal, or by contacting support.
Unless otherwise stated or required by law, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. You may continue using the paid plan until that date, and you will not be charged for another renewal after the cancellation takes effect.
Cancellation stops future renewal charges. It does not automatically refund charges already paid.
3. Refund Eligibility
You may submit a refund request within 14 days of the transaction date, including an initial paid purchase or a subscription renewal. This 14-day period is a request window, not a money-back guarantee. Every request is reviewed case by case and may be approved in full, approved in part, or declined, except where a refund or withdrawal right is required by applicable law.
When reviewing a request, TagTreat and Paddle may consider:
- Whether the service was materially unavailable, defective, or significantly different from its description
- Whether reasonable troubleshooting or support steps have been attempted
- The timing of the request and whether material use of the paid service has begun
- The number of customer posts verified, rewards issued or redeemed, and other paid features or allowances used
- Evidence of duplicate, mistaken, unauthorized, fraudulent, or abusive activity
- Applicable consumer-protection law and Paddle’s buyer terms
If the service is working as described and material use has begun, a change of mind, lack of anticipated business results, or failure to use the remaining allowance will generally not qualify for a refund. For example, verified customer posts or redeemed rewards may demonstrate that the paid service has already delivered value.
After the applicable request period, payments are generally non-refundable unless required by law or approved by Paddle in its discretion. Refunds are not available for free plans because no payment is collected.
4. Plan Changes, Unused Time, and Allowances
An upgrade may take effect immediately. Any credit for the unused portion of a current paid plan will be calculated and displayed before the upgrade is confirmed. An upgrade credit reduces the amount charged for the new plan and is not a cash refund.
A downgrade normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The current plan remains available until then. Unused time, unused post allowances, and partial billing periods are not automatically refundable unless the checkout states otherwise, Paddle approves a refund, or applicable law requires one.
TagTreat subscriptions include access to the platform and its features, not only a fixed number of customer posts. Refunds are therefore not calculated automatically by dividing the subscription price by the number of unused posts or other remaining allowances.
5. Technical Problems
If a persistent technical problem prevents you from accessing material paid features, contact TagTreat first and give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and resolve it.
If the problem cannot be resolved and the service is materially defective or not as described, you may request a refund. We may ask for account details, screenshots, dates, error messages, and troubleshooting information. Paddle will process any approved refund in accordance with applicable law and its buyer policy.
6. How to Request a Refund
You can request a refund in any of the following ways:
- Use the receipt or subscription-management link in the email sent by Paddle
- Visit paddle.net and select the refund-support option
- Email support@tagtreat.com
Include the email address used for purchase, the Paddle transaction or receipt number if available, the reason for the request, and any relevant supporting information. Do not send full card numbers, passwords, or card security codes.
7. Refund Processing
If approved, Paddle will normally return the refund to the original payment method where possible. Paddle states that eligible refunds are processed within 14 days after approval, although the time for funds to appear may also depend on the bank or payment provider.
A refund may be full or partial. Any partial amount is determined case by case based on the reason for the request, time elapsed, service usage or consumption, technical impact, and applicable law; there is no automatic per-post or unused-allowance refund formula.
When a subscription is refunded, access to the associated paid plan or features may end or be reduced to the applicable free-plan level, and any unused paid allowance may be removed.
For additional information about Paddle’s process and country-specific rights, see Paddle’s Refund Policy.
8. Chargebacks and Fraud
Please contact TagTreat or Paddle before opening a chargeback so we have an opportunity to resolve the issue. A payment dispute or suspected fraud may result in temporary restriction of the associated account while the matter is investigated.
Refunds may be declined where there is evidence of refund abuse, manipulation, or fraud, subject to mandatory legal rights.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to our service, Paddle’s processes, or legal requirements. The version in effect when a transaction occurred will apply to that transaction unless applicable law requires otherwise.
